Reimbursement Support Services

Every insurance company and public healthcare program has its own coverage and reimbursement procedures for various Roche HIV products. The Roche HIV Therapy Assistance Program is staffed by reimbursement specialists trained to answer questions about insurance coverage. When you call the ASSIST Reimbursement Hotline, a specialist will help you understand individual insurance requirements and the procedures necessary to get coverage.

How the Program Can Help

The Roche HIV Therapy Assistance Program offers a range of services to patients and healthcare providers, including:

  • Providing information about insurance coverage policies for Roche HIV products, whether the policies are for private insurance plans like HMOs or public programs like Medicaid or AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs)

  • Identifying sources of help for handling coverage problems

  • Providing information on prior authorizations, claim submissions and other procedures

  • Answering questions about claim denials and appeals processes

  • Qualification and enrollment of eligible patients in the Medical Needs Program

Although the program provides direct assistance on individual claims problems, it cannot guarantee coverage or a specific reimbursement rate for Roche products.

The Medical Needs Program

Outpatients who have been prescribed INVIRASE® (saquinavir mesylate), Fuzeon® (enfuvirtide), Valcyte® (valganciclovir HCl), or Fortovase® (saquinavir), but don’t have prescription coverage or assistance and can’t afford to get the medicine should ask their doctor, case manager or other healthcare professional to contact the Medical Needs Program.

This program works with patients and physicians to locate sources of help in dealing with insurance coverage problems with the medicines Fortovase, Valcyte, INVIRASE, and Fuzeon. In addition, the Medical Needs Program helps obtain access to those drugs for eligible patients who are unable to obtain prescription drug coverage.
